Quantum physics is a branch of physics deals with sub atomic particles.
I am definitely not a physicist, so you might ask how quantum physics concerns me, it actually concerns not just me, but everyone of us, it affects our every day lives in massive scales in ways we are still yet to understand completely.
Quantum mechanics has been one of the most bizarre field of physics, which changed all the views about how matter acts, how reality works. Everything we have today, tiny processor chips, nano technology is a direct application of quantum physics.
Now I don't know anything about how the microprocessors work that is not what I am here talk about, I am here to talk about the Neil borh's double slit experiment, surely we have all read that in our school books, without even understanding what impact it has on out perception of reality as a whole.
If you scroll down you will see, how
difference interference patterns were formed when electrons were passed through the slits, which proved that electrons have property of both waves ans particle, now, previously electrons were thought be just particles so scientists thought the electrons will go through either one of those slits and settle on the screen, this being a double slit experiment they inferred it could have only two possiblities but to their astonishment they formed multiple interference bands hence proving they had wave like properties.
Now to the bizarre part, electrons, even when sent one by one formed multiple interference pattern proving that it was not collision with other electron's which made them form the patterns but each electron while travelling behaved like waves hitting and scattering.
Then scientists kept a measuring device to calculate how this wave like property of electron works (I don't know what the device is but I will find out soon) anyways, to the scientists astonishment they all formed only two interference pattern like that of a particle I.e as soon as they inserted a measuring device the electron started acting like a particle and produced only two interference bands via the two slits they were passed through. I.e the act of measuring changed the probablities and made the electron make the expected move I.e pass through the slits without any variations in their path.
We are all made of electron, proton, nutrons etc... so how they act gives an understanding of how we might work.
Inference:-
(Multiple mathematical calculations were done before they came to this conclusion, probably)
1) There is no single probablities, all those astrologer goons who say they can predict the future are just a bunch of phonies, cuz, according to quantum physics everything is a bunch of probablities, and even if you use all mathematical calculations you can only calculate percentages of a probablity of an event for example weather etc... and if some if a probablity occurs here the rest of the probablities occur somewhere in parlellel dimensions (this is a hard concept to grasp for me to).
2) Reality which has on multiple occasions been defined as a constant is found to be exactly not, you choose where to look and it happens, its the act of measuring that determines reality i.e its in the eyes of the observer.
I know some of it does not completely make sense because I have yet to connect the dots myself but I guess I might have given you a basic idea of how reality and quantum mechanics go hand in hand.
